What kind of substance is linalool terpene? Linalool terpene is a secondary terpene in cannabis that has a pleasant, flowery, somewhat spicy aroma and can be found in coriander seeds and the skin of citrus fruit. These plants are also important sources for extracting linalool by steam destillation. 

Linalool terpene also occurs in nearly all cannabis strains, but in lower concentrations than coriander. A few examples of weed strains that have relatively high linalool concentrations (over 4%) are: Pineapple Express, ATF, Girl Scout Cookies (GSC), Granddaddy Purple, Sunset Sherbet and Tahoe OG.

Some uses of Linalool

Use this terpene as a supplement on your weed buds, or on concentrates when smoking or vaping. Linalool is also added as an aroma and flavour to food, due to the pleasant taste and aroma. This makes it a popular additive in cleaning agents, air freshners and products for personal care, such as shampoo and soap.

This terpene also has antibacterial and insect-repelling properties. Linalool is used in certain insecticides agains fruit flies, fleas and cockroaches. For this reason, researchers recommend adding 2% linalool in chicken feed, to combat insect plagues in the poultry industry.

Some researchers suspect a synergy effect between linalool and some cannabinoids in hemp and weed, such as CBD, CBG, THC and CBN. Clinical research has yet to confirm these effects.

How to safely handle and use Linalool Terpene Isolate

• This bottle of terpene isolate contains 10 ml undiluted linalool
• Never ingest indulited terpenes! Always dilute them to 1-2% of the liquid in which it is mixed and never take the entire bottle in one dose
• Don't use undiluted terpenes in poorly ventilated spaces, or in the presence of small children and pets
• Undiluted or highly concentrated linalool can cause skin irritation. Contact with the eyes can result in permanent damage. Handle with care
• Don't use terpenes when pregnant, or breastfeeding
• Store the bottle in a cool and dark place (2 to 8 °C), out of reach of children and pets
• Even though the bottle is made of dark glass which protects the content against UV-light, it is better to store it in a dark place
