Pulegone Terpene Isolate by Cibiday

The volatile Pulegone Terpene Isolate by Cibiday occurs in the essential oils of peppermint, catnip and pennyroyal. In countries such as Spain, tea is made from pennyroyal. Pulegone is a clear, oily liquid, that does not dissolve in water. 

Some common uses for pulegone

Due to the pleasant taste and aroma of peppermint and camphor, pulegone is used in perfumes, detergents and cosmetics. It is also used in sweets and in aroma therapy.

Plants use pulegone as part of a defense mechanism against herbivores and insects. For example, plants of the species acinos suaveolens have higher concentrations of this terpene in areas where they are regularly grazed.

How to safely handle and use Pulegone Terpene Isolate

• This bottle of terpene isolate contains 10 ml undiluted pulegone
• Never ingest indulited terpenes! Always dilute them to 1-2% of the liquid in which it is mixed and never take the entire bottle in one dose
• In high concentrations pulegone is poisonous and deadly. It can even lead to abortion in pregnant women. This is why the European Medicines Agency limits the maximum safe intake of pulegone to 0.75 mg per kilo of body weight
• Don't use undiluted terpenes in poorly ventilated spaces, or in the presence of small children and pets
• Don't use terpenes when pregnant, or breastfeeding
• Store the bottle in a cool and dark place (2 to 8 °C), out of reach of children and pets
• Even though the bottle is made of dark glass which protects the content against UV-light, it is better to store it in a dark place
