What is CBD?

Like THC Cannabidiol is a component (cannabinoid) which can be found in the cannabis sativa plant. A difference with THC however is that CBD is not psychoactive, which means it will not cause a "stoned" or "high" feeling.

In order to obtain oil with extremely low THC-percentages, hemp plants were chosen which are legally cultivated for many industrial means. These hemp plants were then further bred for obtaining a CBD-percentage as high as possible.

CBD oil is a natural product which consists of a carrier oil, like for instance olive oil, to which a CBD-rich hemp extract is subsequently added. How does CBD work?

With the difference that the tasteless capsules prevent the activation of the taste buds on the tongue, which means the brain will not be able to ascertain any taste perception of CBD oil. The active ingredients will however not be deposited directly into the blood stream, but will end up in the stomach first, as CBD in edible or drinkable form would. CBD can also be inhaled with the help of vaporizers, e-cigarettes, e-liquids or dabs.
